Mission
Texas CARES is celebrating its 15th anniversary as a non-profit animal welfare organization.
Our all volunteer group provides for abandoned and unwanted cats and kittens, and
the occasional dog, in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
Besides finding great permanent
homes for our animals, we also educate the public about the humane treatment of
all animals and the responsibility of pet ownership.

Proposal
Our
website is currently created in Frontpage and we need a cleaner, fresh look. Also,
our old database administrator quit, and ran off with our database, as it was not
web-based. For the past few years, all of our data on our animals is kept in a file
cabinet. When an animal is lost, it takes us forever to go to our storage facility,
and dig through files to find the correct contract or tag number.
Therefore, our proposal is simple. We need a database to track all our animals that
come into and go out of the program, and a website to showcase them so we can find
them permanent homes.
